secular trend:

More single mothers and same-sex couples want children and more people are waiting longer to have them.

Progyny’s coverage tries to guide patients through doctor consultations, and services like in vitro fertilization and medications, while eliminating the cost barriers that often prevent patients from seeking full treatment.

When a company agrees to use Progyny’s fertility benefits services, it ends any fertility coverage they might have had through their main health insurer.

Progyny, offers treatment plans that connect employees of large companies to services that help them achieve pregnancy. It envisions a “world where anyone who wants to have a child” can have one. The company hopes to benefit from a cultural shift in the way people think about having children.

What we like:

The tech sector has made up the biggest portion of Progyny’s clients. Microsoft (MSFT) and Alphabet’s (GOOGL) Google are two of Progyny’s biggest customers, and make up a sizable chunk of its overall revenue. But it has also made inroads in the retail, health and media industries.
